A field to capture ORCid ID’s has been added to the KC system. ORCiD is a digital identifier that distinguishes investigators and is beginning to be used by sponsors to track applications and publications. This is a display field only and does not push to other federal systems (e.g. eRA Commons). The field is shown on the Person Details subpanel within the Proposal Development module.
To add ORCiD ID’s for MSU employees or students to their Person Record in KC, we have created a new web form within the Forms and Templates section of our webpage. We have also provided the option to complete an ORCiD ID Excel template if you are adding multiple ID’s at one time. Additional Guidance on the New PI Certification Question
On November 8th the following question was added to the Proposal Person Certification questions in the Proposal Development module:
"Are you aware of the current sponsor’s requirements related to disclosures of current and pending support (also known as Other Support), and that at a minimum you must disclose ALL support including gifts, grants, and contracts from all foreign and domestic sources, including MSU project support? (click More Information for a web address with additional resources)"
There has been confusion on how to answer this question when the sponsor being applied to does not have requirements related to Current & Pending / Other Support. To help alleviate this confusion we have added the following additional guidance within the More/Less Information section of the question:
"Several sponsors have added requirements in this area. If the current sponsor or application does not require Current & Pending/Other Support to be disclosed with the proposal or at a later stage in the award cycle, and thus there is no such requirement, please answer “yes” as an indication that you are aware there is no such requirement."
